TEE BALL IS FOR 3, 4, & 5 YEAR OLDS WITH NO TEE BALL EXPERIENCE. A CLINIC IS CONDUCTED ON NOVEMBER 21st, AT Glebe Park FROM 9:00AM TO 10:30AM. PLAYERS NEED BASEBALL GLOVE TO PARTICIPATE.COST IS $10.00. WHAT WILL THEY LEARN? BASE RUNNING, CATCHING & THROWING A BASEBALL, HITTING OFF A BATTING TEE. SAFETY TIPS. MANY TIMES CHILDREN DO NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN SOME BASIC SKILLS PRIOR TO START OF SEASON. THIS GIVES EACH PLAYER THE CHANCE TO RUN THE BASES, HIT OFF THE BATTING TEE, CATCH & THROW A BASEBALL, AND THEN BE COMFORTABLE ON GAME DAY KNOWING THAT THEY HAVE DONE THESE THINGS BEFORE. ALL EQUIPMENT IS PROVIDED FOR PLAYERS EXCEPT A BASEBALL GLOVE, . HELMETS, BATS, BASEBALLS-(SOFT DOT BASEBALLS ONLY), BATTING TEES ARE ALL PROVIDED BY SUNCOAST SPORTS CLUB. COACH PITCH IS FOR PLAYERS THAT HAVE ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE WITH TEE BALL. NO CLINIC IS NECESSARY, BUT PLAYERS MAY ATTEND. COACHES PITCH TO ALL PLAYERS, PLAYERS MAY BE PUT OUT AT ANY BASE EXCEPT FIRST BASE. (all players bat three times and play field three times, all players will have opportunity to bat, we do not play three up and three down).ALL EQUIPMENT PROVIDED. (JUST HAVE FUN!).
| IN TEE BALL PARENTS ARE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD AT ALL TIMES. YOU MAY ASSIST YOUR CHILD IN THE GAME; HOWEVER, YOU MAY NOT PLAY IN THE GAME. WE HAVE FOUND THAT HAVING A PARENT ON THE FIELD IN TEE BALL GIVES THE PLAYERS MORE CONFIDENCE AND ALLOWS THEM TO PARTICIPATE MORE. EACH PLAYER IS GIVEN SIX SWINGS AT THE BALL, IF PLAYER DOES NOT HIT BALL, PLAYER WILL TAKE A BASE. NO PLAYER MAY BE PUT OUT ON ANY BASE, ALL PLAYERS BAT THREE TIMES AND PLAY FIELD THREE TIMES. GAMES LAST ABOUT ONE HOUR. ALL PLAYERS IN ON DECK CIRCLE AND AT BAT WILL WEAR BATTING HELMET, (NO EXCEPTIONS). THERE IS NO BAT SWINGING EXCEPT IN BATTERS BOX! IN COACH PITCH, PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FIELD AT ANY TIME. PLAYERS WILL HAVE FIVE PITCHES TO HIT BALL, IF PLAYER DOES NOT HIT, TAKES BASE. PLAYERS CANNOT BE PUT OUT GOING TO FIRST BASE, BUT MAY BE PUT OUT GOING TO ANY OTHER BASE. NO SLIDING IN HOME WHEN BATTERS PRESENT. PLAYERS MAY NOT BE TEN AFTER AUGUST 1ST. PLAYERS HAVE THREE TIMES AT BAT AND THREE TIMES IN THE FIELD. LOTS OF FUN! GOOD LUCK.

| The Philosophy of the Suncoast Sports Club, Inc., is very simple. Children deserve the right to play sports just for fun. Children should be allowed to interact with other children in an adult supervised, fun, sports environment. Children should always enjoy sports, they should have fun learning about how to play each sport while learning basic skills. The rules of each sport are not important in the early stages, (3 to 6 years of age), because too much is too much. How can it be fun if you have to learn all these rules? If an official blows the whistle every two or three minutes for an infraction, when do the children just learn how to play? You learn to play by playing, we believe each sport should have a clinic, where each child can see how things should be done, then step back and let them learn, by age seven or eight the children start to learn the rules and have confidence in their ability to play by the "rules". Give the kid a break, let them have some fun. Does our philosophy work? we started in 1998 with forty to sixty children, we now have over six hundred playing eight different sports. Soccer, Flag Football, tackle football ,Tee ball and coach pitch, basketball, golf, tennis , Lacrosse and now girls volleyball, ages six to sixteen, (Spartan Volleyball Club), We are the largest sports club for children in Sarasota County, not the largest league; but the largest sports club.Girls volleyball coach is Kim Kelly, coach Ph:302-2390.

| PURPOSE: TO CONTINUE OUR EFFORTS IN THE SPORTS ARENA, TO INSURE THAT EVERY CHILD THAT WANTS TO PLAY SPORTS IS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY. THAT ALL CHILDREN BE ALLOWED TO PLAY TOGETHER WITHOUT HAVING TO BE THE BEST OR WIN THE MOST. JUST MEET NEW FRIENDS, PLAY FOR FUN, AND ENJOY BEING A CHILD.
